Whether you're a seasoned competitor or just starting out, the mental side of equestrian sport can be just as challenging as the physical. As a registered Performance Psychologist and active competitor in cutting horse events, I understand firsthand the unique pressures riders face—because I’ve lived them.
My journey has involved overcoming significant performance anxiety and self-doubt. Through Mental Skills and Equestrian Performance Psychology techniques, I transformed my mindset and now compete with confidence and clarity.
I help riders of all ages, all levels and all disciplines to:

For all riders, mastering the art of horsemanship is about more than just physical skill—it's a profound mental and emotional partnership. Many of us know the feeling: the tightening in your chest before a show, the doubt that whispers you're not good enough, or the fear that holds you back from pushing your limits. These moments—from performance anxiety to a nagging loss of confidence—aren't just annoyances; they are the biggest barriers to achieving the fluid, confident partnership you and your horse are capable of. Performance and mindset psychology provides you with a proven toolkit of mental skills, helping you not only overcome these obstacles but truly unleash your full potential, transforming your relationship with the sport and with yourself.
For professional and elite competitors, mastery is measured in fractions of a second and millimetre precision. You've honed the physical skills, but what separates good from great is the ability to consistently deliver under immense pressure. The challenges you face aren't just about anxiety; they're about maintaining absolute focus in a high-stakes arena, managing mental fatigue across a gruelling season, and executing a perfect round when everything is on the line. Elite performance psychology isn't a fix for fear; it's a strategic tool designed to optimise your mental game. It provides a structured approach to fine-tuning your mindset, helping you eliminate costly mental errors and consistently access the peak state of performance required to stay at the top of your sport.

I’m not just a Psychologist—I’m also a rider and competitor. I’ve competed across a range of equine disciplines including dressage, show jumping, eventing, and now cutting horses, where I’ve found my competitive stride. My journey has involved overcoming significant performance anxiety and self-doubt. Through Performance and Sport Psychology techniques, I transformed my mindset and now compete with confidence and clarity.
This lived experience allows me to connect deeply with my clients. I understand the emotional highs and lows, the pressure of competition, and the unique relationship between horse and rider. My goal is to help you build the same mental skills for riders that changed my own riding career.
As a Psychologist with extensive experience supporting children, teens, and adults, I offer clients of all ages the expertise required to help them develop the mental skills needed to perform at their best.
I provide practical, real world, and evidence-based strategies, to empower riders to overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and unlock their full potential—both in and out of the arena.

Whether you're aiming for the winner's circle, a peaceful trail ride , or a fulfilling partnership with your horse, the mental game is just as crucial as the physical or technical skills.
You're a driven athlete, and with that comes a unique set of pressures. Maybe your progress feels at a standstill, or you can't quite get the results you want when it means the most to you. We'll work on practical strategies to help you navigate those moments. The goal is to help you show up for your ride, not fighting with the nerves or the "what-ifs," but instead focusing on the task at hand. We'll build a toolkit of mental skills that helps you stay present and perform effectively, even when the stakes are high, so you can consistently move toward the kind of rider you want to be.
You ride because it brings you joy, peace, and a special connection with your horse. But what happens when that enjoyment is replaced by fear, or when a challenge on the trail or in the arena starts to feel overwhelming? Perhaps you've lost confidence after a fall, or you find yourself constantly worrying about what could go wrong. We can explore mental skills that help you build trust in yourself and your horse, so you can get back to simply enjoying your time together. We'll focus on how to recognise and work with those unhelpful thoughts and feelings so you can stop fighting with them and instead stay connected to the reason you started riding in the first place—to have fun and feel confident.
It's a huge commitment to be a young equestrian athlete, and it's easy to get caught up in the pressure to perform, to meet expectations from coaches, parents, or even yourself. When performance anxiety creeps in, it can take the fun out of the sport. The mental skills we'll work on are designed to help you navigate these pressures and find your footing. You'll learn to handle those moments of self-doubt and nerves, not by trying to wish them away, but by building resilience and a focus on what's truly important to you. This support is all about helping you stay grounded in your love for the sport and for your horse, ensuring your journey as a rider is both successful and rewarding.
As a coach, you're the backbone of the equestrian community, but your role comes with unique pressures. I work with instructors and coaches to help them support their clients' mental game. You are in a unique position to influence a rider's confidence and mindset, and with a few key mental skills techniques, you can do even more. I can help you learn how to identify mental roadblocks in your students and effectively guide them through those challenges. By integrating simple tools into your lessons, you can help riders develop resilience, manage performance anxiety, and stay focused on what they's most important to them, both in and out of the saddle. This not only elevates your coaching but also creates a more supportive and empowering environment for every rider you teach.
